Why We Love Being the Plumbing Experts in Hilliard, Ohio
Hilliard is a suburb of Columbus Norwich Township. This Franklin County city has a population of 37,000. Hilliard is home to the Early Television Museum, which is the only museum of its kind in the country. It is also home to the second-largest First Responders Park in the nation and the Heritage Rail Trail. The city is located between Big Darby Creek and the Scioto River. Originally, it was called Hilliard’s Station. It was considered an excellent shipping point for agricultural products heading to market and supplies required by area farmers. The Hilliard area was laid out in 1853 by John Hilliard. The old railroad station and the Main Street remained the town center until the mid-20th century. In 1854, the word “Station” was removed from the town name. Then, in 1869, Hilliard was incorporated as a village with a population of around 280. In 1886, the first railroad station was established on the north side of the line, west of Main Street. It remained there until all railroad services ended in 1962. Today, that initial historic train station still stands. However, it has been restored and preserved in Hilliard’s historical Weaver Park. In 1960, Hilliard earned the status as a city when the population reached more than 5,600. When the I-270 outer belt was constructed in the early 1970s, Hilliard saw the second wave of tremendous growth. Land uses today in Hilliard are still a mix of residential and commercial expansion. There is a rich heritage of residential structures and distinctive architectural styles that can be admired in the historic district along Norwich Street.
We at Gahanna Plumbing & Drain are proud to serve Hilliard with all types of plumbing services, including grease trap cleaning, sump pump installation, tankless water heater installation, garbage disposal repair and toilet repair.
